About Me

Hi and welcome!

My name is Phil,

I’ve been riding bikes for a fair few years now, from BMX’s, with mates as a teenager, right up to the present day, working as a professional guide.

I am pretty happy on two wheels of any type, but in particular, have a taste for mountain biking and cyclo-cross, I love the sense of adventure I get from riding in the wilderness, the wilder the better.

For me, the bike is the best mode of transport to get into the hills and away from it all and into the UK most remote areas.

I also love bike racing and regularly compete in the local cyclocross series, MTB cross-country events, MTB marathons, and 12-hour endurance events.

I am a British Cycling level 3 mountain bike guide, MIAS qualified mountain bike guide, Cytech qualified bike mechanic and CTC qualified cycling guide and a Volunteer Ranger with Sustrans, so a lot of my time is spent on and around bikes.

I am very lucky to work as a freelance cycle guide. This puts me in the fortunate position of cycling in some of the most amazing parts of the world while sharing the experience with some amazing, like-minded people.
